Biomass Market Place – BIOMAP – has developed three local web based market places in which suppliers of biomass and potential customers can interact.
The project has identified 20 examples of best practice on bio-based activities in Västra Götaland, Zeeland and Emilia-Romagna. The examples of best practice are featured in the report available at the bottom of this page.
The objective of BIOMAP is to develop business within the field of biomass to reduce CO2 emissions and to promote rural economy. The project has promoted exchange of knowledge about local energy markets,
among others by organising several Site Visits for elected members, companies and staff from other regions.
The project partners have established close contacts between buyers and sellers of biomass and between companies involved in bio fuels, biomass industry, food processing industry and agriculture. BIOMAP
has been presented at many different events for hundreds of farmers, students, politicians and other stakeholders.
The market place is particularly suitable for trading of biomass for bio-based purposes. However the marketplace can easily be extended with other product types according to wishes of different businesses.
The BIOMAP provides the user with three levels of access:
The BIOMAP Web can be accessed in English, Italian, Dutch and Swedish and will be marketed in Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden by different organisations/ companies. If organisations in other countries
are interested in using and marketing the web, they should contact the Lead Partner Agroväst Livsmedel AB, Sweden.
