Six European regions have joined forces in a common intiative to reduce CO2 emissions locally and regionally. The objective is to benchmark, develop and implement low carbon solutions for sustainable growth. But how? A new folder explains the LoCaRe project in a easy way, from objective and strategy to focus, sub-theme and projects.

After its Call for proposals LoCaRe has received 14 proposals for Sub-projects from a wide range of applicants from local authorities, universities, development agencies and chambers of commerce from the six partner regions of LoCaRe.

LoCaRe - The Low Carbon Economy Regions – launched a Call for proposals for Sub-projects that closed on 1st October 2010. The sub-projects should focus on the exchange of experiences and contribute to improving regional/local policies or instruments within the Sub-themes (see terms of Reference for Sub-themes). The call was open for local authorities and bodies governed by public law in the LoCaRe Partner Regions.
Kicked-off

The LoCaRe project was kicked-off on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th April in Gothenburg, Sweden. The participants were faced with the interesting question of theatre vs. trousers: What to choose from an environmental perspective.

The winners of the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards 2010 were announced on 23 March 2010 at the Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels. ProjectZero a public/private initiative in The Region of Southern Denmark were among the five winners.
